What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding

By Kristen Newman

This is one of my all-time favourite travel books and is an absolute must-read for any young, single women with a love for adventure. It addresses the very prominent concerns all young travellers have, pondering the back and forth between settling down and staying the course with wanderlust. Kirsten hushes the fears most of us have when contemplating a big move, travelling to foreign lands all by our lonesome and wimageshen choosing the path of least resistance.

Kirsten brings us inside her solo excursions of love, lust and sometimes lousy decision-making. With a peak into her life during her 20s and 30s, Kirsten often goes back and forth between the things she had to give up in order to live out her wild, crazy dreams, excerpting my now personal mantra: “you always have to trade awesome for awesome.” Ultimately, it touches on a more personal level as Kristen discovers what keeps her always looking for more while gaining a better understanding of who she is.

This book is hilariously honest, sexy, relatable and, most importantly, real. An absolute page-turner, you will be sucked into Kirsten’s world with the hope of amplifying your own.
